This trip of a lifetime held so many surprises! I really had no idea I knew so little about South America. Most of the ports I had never heard of and so surprised at the mixture of people living there.
Before each stop we attended the information session about it. So much history. Going around the horn was magnificent. Magellan strait and Beagle channel - wow. It's also amazing how people travelled there so long ago and developed new cities and towns. Brave to be in that big ocean. Every place was different. From Chacabuco with a population of 1200 to Lima with a population of 9 million and the Panama Canal.
On the other side I did not to expect to get sick on the 3rd day and spend my time coughing. Many people got the same illness. However we survived and enjoyed the adventure.
