brooder box for the chicks

POSTED IN: Building a chicken coop

Last night I built a brooder box for the chicks.  It's a simple box, built out of scrap plywood cut with a circular saw:  3 feet square and 2 feet high.

We've put it in the guest house, with a heater to keep the room warm, and then a Brinsea brooder in the box to keep the chicks warm.

Here's a picture of the box that I made before it had any chicks in it:

Today we went to get 6 chicks -- they're still staying mostly under the heater, which is warm and darker.
