We've been steeped in Dream to Learn for over a year now, and as the platform matures, we're coming in contact with more people who are completely fresh to the idea. Enter the "Elevator Pitch" - a short summary used to quickly and simply define what something is, and why it's valuable. Typically it's a 30 second to 2 minute pitch.
The challenge, when you have 3000 things floating in your head, and so much history and context, is to flip the switch, and understand the person you are talking to has zero idea - no context or history. Blank page. I have struggled with this, partly because of how I communicate, and partly because DTL is ever changing - but I am getting better (I hope). A few concepts below. Feedback welcomed!
'I didn't have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead.'
- Mark Twain
Social Platform. Personal Growth.
Dream to Learn is a social platform where people with dreams to "learn, grow and become" can support one another, and build relationships and communities around those dreams. If sites like Quora and Wikipedia are about producing knowledge, Dream to Learn is about sharing the process of learning and growing with like-minded people.
Shared Passion. Constructive Learning.
Dream to Learn is a place where positive people with a shared passion, create online communities to learn and grow together. Dream to Learn combines the strengths of online learning and social media. Dream to Learn brings together people from all over, and helps them learn and grow together. Today's student may be tomorrow's teacher.
Social Platform. Kindred Spirits.
Dream to Learn is a social platform for learning, development and growth. A place where kindred spirits support each other around their dreams and aspirations. If sites like Quora and Wikipedia are about producing knowledge, Dream to Learn is about creating personal connections between people who share aspirations - and providing the tools to achieve their goals.
